Trialling as a Club Promoter
I have applied for a job as a promoter for this club in the city, they are trialling me for a position this weekend, basically they want me to share the event on Facebook and have put my name down on the guest list with a +1. Everything is good, but most everyone i know is busy this weekend.
Normally i don't have a problem going to things on my own, in fact i prefer it. But the eye of Sauron is upon me and being that i'm applying for a job where my social skills are literally under scrutiny, i'm bothered that my lonerdom will prevent me from getting hired.
The thought of showing up at all makes me a little nervous, i hate night clubs, but i love live music and want to get a foot into music events and every bodies got to start somewhere...
Any advice from people that have worked in music pr before, on this situation and just the job in general? (is inviting me down this weekend, just a gesture of good will or a test of some kind)
