No, I don't work in Walmart.
So I was on lunch break and I finished early, and a friend rang me and asked me to help him go shopping, he's in a wheelchair currently. So I meet him there, still in my work outfit with my employee ID badge on my lanyard. I get a cart and we go shopping.
Nothing happened until I got to the frozen food section, I'm lifting frozen food into his cart for him from the top shelf.
Apparently someone in a scooter saw me doing this and my lanyard, and I happened to be wearing a blue shirt, so I guess she assumed I work there. I'm talking with my friend and carrying on and pulling the cart along for him, and I barely make out:
Hey, you over there, can you help me? Hey! I'm talking to you! DON'T IGNORE ME!
The last one gets my attention so I turn around and go:
You talking to me?
She's this red faced old woman pointing to a high shelf in the frozen food cabinet.
I respond, a bit irritated,
Yeah I don't work here, this is my employee ID for REDACTED Inc. just over thataway.
I point in the direction of my workplace, but I run over and grab the thing she was pointing at and throw it in the cart, since, after all, its Walmart and employees are MIA, and I'm not a jerk.
My friend is laughing his ass off. I go back and say,
You happy motherfucker? [I'm joking with him as he has a tendency to swear]
Completely. That's enough for today, lets check out.
I go to self checkout and get everything bagged and load it up into his car.
That's the last time I forget to take off my employee ID - damn that was embarassing.
