Mage and pyro build questions

This is my first souls game (played bloodborne) and im loving it. Im playing a pyro atm and will branch out to sorcery later on.

My question is whether there are any good catalyst weapons that scale well with dex or any weapon that scales with int?

This is because i just don't want to be all spell based i would like to have a weapon i can swing as well

also are the pyro hands the only way you can cast pyro spells?

Also what stats should i focus on first? Thanks guys
