It's been over a year since the Buffy the Vampire Slayer "HD Remasters" began airing. A Blu-ray release is past due.
Regardless of the controversial changes, aspect ratio issues, and flat-out errors present in the HD airings on a network called Pivot, Buffy in high definition is something that's still a mystery for fans who want it on Blu-ray.
I don't normally mind changes in color and tint even if they do alter the original artistic intent of the show, and I am happy to forgive the cameramen and setlights that the new widescreen episodes sometimes reveal. All of this could be a moot point if the show were simply re-released on Blu-ray with no "remastering" except a higher definition.
The show is as great as ever, though somewhat dated at points by fashion and technology. But a BR release would be a fantastic thing to have, and the series is already "remastered" in HD to air on television. I would take that version over nothing at all, which is what we currently have.
