I mommy-shamed myself
For the past couple of days I have been wanting to take my little one to the park. The weather has been pretty chilly lately but this morning I decided that today was the day! The sun was shining, there was no wind, and the temperature was just right.
After her nap I got her dressed. Put on her jacket, hat, socks and shoes. I brought her mittens in case her tiny fingers got cold.
We got to the park, I plopped her into the baby swing, took some pictures, we were having a great time! .... and then another mom showed up. I have never felt so terrible.
Her little one was bundled from head to toe in this one-piece winter thing with hands and feet covered, a hat and a hood.
Cue instant regret. I wanted to run home and wrap my baby up like a marshmallow. All of a sudden I felt like she was SO under dressed and probably freezing. But i swear it wasn't that cold! I checked her hands and they were warm. I can only imagine what the other mom was thinking but I would have looked pretty stupid leaving and coming back with my baby dressed differently. Time has never gone so slow. The second the other mom left we did too even though we hadn't been out there long. I just felt too guilty!
Between the failed breast feeding/tongue and lip tie issues/PPD and now this, I'm starting to look for the restart button on this thing.
