How much does your average person in Tamriel know?

Do most people of Tamriel have any idea that concepts like Chim and the Godhead exist? I think the deepest thing I have heard is from a peasant in Oblivion say "Blessing of Anu opon you" but other than that nothing. Do peoples knowledge not go beyond the Aedra and Daedra and the basics?
