question if im using rel="canonical correctly or not

since search consol consider www and non-www of the domain two different websites...and I have the non-www set as my preferred...then i got an SSL certificate

so whether you type in http://mysite.com or http://www.mysite.com

both will automatically redirect to https://MySite.com

should i be using <link rel="canonical" href="https://landscapecape.com/" />

and each page... also has it

for example http://mysite.com/blog will automatically redirect to https://mysite.com/blog and in the header says <link rel="canonical" href="https://mysite.com/blog" />

am i doing that correctly? or is that hurting my SEO? (it doesn't seem to be as far as i can tell)...or does it not even matter a ton?
