X201 screen needs a smack to have backlight turn on

My x201 was in a suitcase (stowaway) on a plane ride. After that, I need to smack it to have the backlight turn on. It stayed like that for a few months until, now, the wifi requires frequent on-off-ing to work and the backlight will only stay on for a few seconds. What do I do? I think there's just a loose cable somewhere.
