Me 27/non Jewish female with my 29/male Jewish boyfriend 5 years dating - what to do now!!?
Help! I'm dating a Jewish man (29) and I'm a non Jewish woman (27). He told me several months into dating we can't have a future (marriage or kids) because I'm not Jewish. I've met his family and so on...nothing religious mostly dinners. Four years later we are still together. We live together and I seriously love him. I would spend the rest of my life with him. I'm torn in so many ways because recently I realized I want kids someday and I want a man to want that with me! To be excited about being proposed to and get married. I want them with him.
However, most of his life he has lived in sin in the Jewish eyes- has tattoos and eats whatever he wants, dates non Jewish girls....but when it comes to this one thing he can't have happiness with whoever he chooses? It has been challenging recently and I've become jealous and insecure about myself because I don't fit the mold. I always think there is another motive for his sister to invite him somewhere or he is always looking for his future Jewish wife while I'm the girlfriend, chilling. I have disregarded this possibility for four years now and it's time to do something about it. I believe in true love. If something is meant to be it will. How much time do you spend waiting? I don't know what he believes but I need some help or clarity if anyone has experienced similar prejudice- if you will, from parents of a boyfriend or girlfriend.
I know there is a happy side where people just do what they want and their families come around. That's life and it's too short to not marry another person because of a religion. I'm 27, do I start living my life the way I want now or hope he will come around??
TL;DR non Jewish female unsure of relationship with Jewish male after 4 years of intense relations.
