Appeal A Rejection?
Hey guys, just found out I was rejected from first year BCOM at UBC, BC student in grade 12.
I've read here a little about the appeal process, but am still confused. Will call in and ask, but just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences with it?
Basically, this midterm my average increased 3% (89.5 to 92.5) and I expect to reach 94.25 by the end of the year. Grades:
Chem12: 80
Econ12: 99
PreCal12: 93
Eng12: 86 (86 in class, 81 provincial, 84 blended)
I have another approved course this semester (92%) which I suppose would replace Chem in my admission average calculation (thus the 3% increase). That mark is projected to hit 96, as well as my PreCal12 mark (thus the projected 94.25%).
Yes, I know admission isn't based solely off grades, but I do believe that this difference could make an admission decision change. That too, especially since my average goes from below the one the Class of 2019 had, to match it as of right now, and surpass it by the end of the school year.
So, I was just wondering if anyone has had experience/success with the appeal process? Is it even available for students who got rejected right off the bat, or ones who had conditional offers revoked/rejected from waitlist? Thanks!
