Awful question about multiplayer but I can't figure it out without wasting items. Forgive me!

I'm in a particular clan that favors jolly cooperation. I found their emblem and officially joined. However, I have no idea how to leave my summoning mark or how to find those of others in my clan. Do I have to use a particular item to become visible to other players?
