Hotslogs appears to lack more than half of the games at my MMR (1.7k) range in QM. Spread the word, so more people use it.

You know the saying: "only one person per game has to actually upload"

First of all, this is not an attack at Hotslogs, or its uses. Hotslogs is a great service, primarely done by 1 person ( u/barrett777 , who deserves a lot of praise, IMHO)

This is primarely a call to the community, to spread the word, so that more people upload to Hotslogs. And to all of you to look at your games, if you see the same things I do.

For some time I have been wondering, how many of the games are actually uploaded to Hotslogs, and how much are missing.

What I did first was to wait a few hours or days, before I upload my replays. Usually around half of my games were duplicates, the other half were than uploaded by me. I don't play much QM or HL, so take it with a grain of salt. But it does not seem to matter, whether I wait a few hours, or a week. It is always around half the games missing.

So recently I started comparing Hotslogs match histories to ingame profiles an match histories. The ingame profile - be careful to select the right game mode - only tells us the number of wins. I blindly assume a 50% winrate, so I double the number wins and assume, that is the total number of games. On Hotslogs many people I checked are in the 45% to 52% percent range, so close enough.

If I just go by the assumed number of games, than I can find anything, from players who have all games uploaded, to some who appear to lack around 80% of games.

One recent example is a player who had only 2 of their recent 30 games uploaded.

Most players appear to have around half their games or less uploaded. (what is it with this games and halves ;) )

Checking the match history is some manual work, especially because not much data is given in-game, and dates are displayed relative to now. The idea is to see, if maybe players are missing only their early games, but became regular uploaders recently. Sometimes I got lucky, and it was easy to compare. For example a player may have some games sourrounded by long breaks.

I did not check every player this way, but those I checked did fit the major picture. Either they are almost complete, or are missing half or more of their games.

I will continue to check it in the future, and I hope some of you will join me. I hope that at higher MMR ranges, a higher percentage of games is uploaded. At around 1.7k MMR I am right at the starting range.
