Should I keep going to my friends DnD game?
So, this is something that has been brewing for a long time. It started a few months ago when he first wanted to start dming. He originally planned to dm on the same day I did, (With the same players.) though thankfully he changed his mind, since he was one of my players as well.
But we ended up playing on a different day instead and everything was fine. Except; He can not STAND people to be goofing off at all. To the point where he screams at the top of his lungs to get people's attentions. I really don't like being screamed at and I talked to him about that. (We had another player who ended up just never coming back because of that.)
But he's a great Dm, for the most part. At other times he's absolutely awful. He gets really into roleplaying, although when he does roleplay it usually ends with him screaming out attack names. (It's an anime inspired DnD campaign.) He completely let his best friend get away with cheating, with no punishment. Even though every single other player told him about that.
He also really tries to railroad the players. (An example is, one of our swordsmen spent all of his money in a town on booze. Normally, any cool weapons you had for sale would just be out at that point, because they can't afford them. Not to mention our swordsman didn't even want to go to the blacksmith. But, he was forced to, and then forced to give up one of his blades for a new one.) And railroading isn't cool. I know that from experience as a dm, and have warned him about that. But he won't listen.
The next thing that happened was actually at one of my sessions. He came over, took a book off of my bookshelf and just... Read the entire session, instead of actually playing. He's always the first person to goof off at my sessions, which pisses me off because we can't even have off topic conversations without getting yelled at, at his.
Back to his campaign though; We can recruit characters to join our party as NPCs. This one NPC, Chaser. On a 1-10 scale, recruiting him was supposed to be a 1. This other character we recruited was a 7. We recruited that other character in one session, even though he was a 7. The 1, took us 10 sessions.
Not just that though, but I was the one primarily trying to recruit Chaser. (One would think that during diplomacy stuff, a charisma roll would be used.... Nope, it never happened.) So, I had my character flirt with Chaser, while also occasionally being serious. (The anime the campaign was based on is One Piece. There's countless characters like that in it.)
But, for the past 2 or 3 weeks; He's been like. "Shut the fuck up if you want to recruit Chaser, and let the others do all the talking." And it got to the point where out of the 7 total players (Me included.) 3 of them agreed and kept yelling at me to shut the fuck up and stop playing my character the way I was, being flirty. (Even though the DM had introduced a new major NPC that was JUST LIKE my character, except flirty turned up to an 11. And everyone LOVED her.) 1 of the players never said anything. Then me and my 2 friends were just kind of like, what the fuck.
So come today's session, and we finally recruit Chaser. After I just stopped talking. I sat during the entire session on my phone, so I wouldn't talk. But after we recruited Chaser, the DM had him talk to me. Basically it was just, "Stop being creepy and flirting with me and we can start over." To which I tried to reply with "Remember back at Alabasta, I told you I was flirting with you during combat to try to screw with you. I didn't actually mean what I said." But nope, I got yelled at as soon as I got to the "Remember back at---" and was basically just forced to stop talking. I wasn't happy to say the least.
Then the session continued on, and now he's trying to ship my character with that one NPC that we recruited that was the 7. Which I mean, whatever. But you've been telling me for weeks to shut up and to play my character differently; Even though you make NPC's that are worse than what I'm doing. Like, one NPC, Yui actually fucking molested one of the other players characters during their first encounter. But yet noooooo, everyone loves that. But yet my character can't go make a "You missed out on a piece of this ass." taunt to an enemy in combat to try to throw them off their game.
Basically, I'm really salty. Things just keep piling up. Like 2 weeks ago, I wouldn't have thought about even writing this. I'm not sure if I'm being a big baby, or if I have legit points. Reddit, how would you react during this?
