[xpost from /r/webdev] Noob question about WebDev application

So I'm a big noob to webdev so if this is in the wrong place, please let me know.

So I've followed a tutorial on setting up a test application on a DigitalOcean server, a basic "Hello World!" app.

Now with this test app up and running on an IP, how do I use this server to run an app I already developed? I'm having trouble, even after dropping the files in the server and deleting the old "app.py", the "Hello World" is still on the IP rather than an error or the new app.

The file directory for the new app looks like this:

      static > 
                some images
                style.css
                utilities.js
      templates > 
                page1.html
                page2.html
      app.py
      api.py
      another_api.py

Essentially, how do I drop these files in and have them run properly with the foundation the tutorial set me up with?
