Have I been shadowbanned?

First, let me clarify a few things

1. I'm embered
2. I've tried fiddling with the matchmaking settings

Basically yesterday I was invading with little to no problems, and then my friend logs on, so I go to a bonfire ( That we hadn't cleared the boss on ) and I put my sign down, we try with password and without, but he can't see it. I tried invading him and he was well within the level / weapon level requirements but still I couldn't invade him, and now today I'm not seeing any player summon sign's anywhere, nor am I able to invade people.

I haven't cheated or used DLL injectors graphic mods or anything in Dark Souls 3. I was shadowbanned in Darksouls 2, and that taught me my lesson. The only thing I can think of is if "Nvidia GeForce Experience" changing my settings would have anything to do with it
