Does having a degree from a ranked university ultimately matter?
I started taking CS courses at a local university (University of Missouri St. Louis) and wound up really enjoying it. A lot of the faculty here do research in genetic/evolutionary algorithms/programming and I ended up taking some graduate level courses too.
Do you all think it would be worth it to get the MS at an unranked university (though its sister school in Columbia is ranked #101 ), or would it be wiser for me to just bite the bullet and apply elsewhere, such as Urbana Champaign or somewhere else of the like?
Thanks!
