Not sure if I should go on antidepressants
I don't know how long I've been depressed. I see a psychologist who thinks I've had mild depression for at least two years (I'll talk to her about anti-depressants and a referral when I see her next). But I feel like my apathy has always been a part of me, I feel like it's become my personality at this point. I have my good days, but this cycle never seems to end no matter what I do. I'm tired of feeling apathetic, I want to know what it's like to feel, to not have feelings be so fleeting and overcome by a general malaise. I want to be interested in things and by people.
I think I would like to take antidepressants but my family is against it. They would prefer I continue with my CBT and use antidepressants as a last resort. I've seen my psychologist for a little over a year now, but I feel like I'll never get over my apathy, it always come creeping back and the cycle starts again.
