Do all HM go through the same A school? And where would a corpsman attached to a marine unit learn field medical?

Also, I have heard that the marines are always needing corpsman so requesting to go with them straight out of A school is easier. Is that true?

Would you say it's a bad idea to go HM if you're not really interested in the medical field outside of the military? Thank you for the help
