Help finding specific book.

I've been looking for this for a while and was hoping maybe someone's read it or knows the title/author based on this one scene I remember reading:

The scene's from very the beginning because I read it off the Amazon "look inside" sample section.

The girl is brought inside either a school or something, and sent to her room. Then some mistress throws a uniform down by the girl and orders her to change.

The girl is defiant and says she won't do it, so the mistress says something to the effect of "well, we'll just see about that" and goes down to tell the headmaster that he might need to go up and take care of things.

Anyone know what book this is?
