Help! I think I messed up my game. ( corrupted save?)

So, I started a genocide run, but then decided to say not complete it. So I selected the restart option in the menu and was greeted by Flowey. He goes on and comments on how you didn't go through with genocide which is what was expected. Then I decide to just play through as a pacifits and everything was fine up! So I close my game, sleep, go to work, boot it up again and continue from where I was ( date with Papyrus). Play some more, save at Muffet's castle, decide to leave and get gas for my car, come back and I'm greeted with a save file that brings me back to the echo flower cave. So I'm not confused as to why I didn't load to Muffet's castle. I restart my computer, reopen undertale and am greeted with the post genocide run black screen/wind sound. Can someone tell me whats up?
