How do I deal with permanent pushing my lane when playing graves top

I don't understand how people are playing graves top. In certain match ups I feel okay being permanently pushed and harassing them under turret only to sutain the damage I've taken. But in other jg/top combos i feel really susceptible to ganks. Obviously I can ward and try and predict jg movement, but is there any other advice you know of?
