Question: started watching TNG again, who is the Admiral that Data is escorting in episode 1 season 1?

Data says he is 136 years old and he seems to be very fond of the name Enterprise. Is this someone I should know? Couldnt be Johnathan Archer? Not sure of the timeline and too drunk and tired to look it up. Anyone know?
