How to position myself for the next step up?
Hello ITCQ,
I would like to get your advice about how to progress my career and what is actually an obtainable position and salary with my current experience and education?
2 years at an enterprise service desk supporting 6k+ users, high FCR % with an average of 78%. I work 2nd shift so mostly VPN, Mobile, and Application calls.
Things that I do that stand out from the norm:
- Considered the SME of our knowledge base software.
- How to videos for techs and end users.
- Software provisioning.
- Reporting and analytics.
- Ticket quality.
(Constantly asking for different work to learn as much as I can)
Website admin for 2 years averaging 300,000 unique visitors a month.
Which gave me a little bit of experience with HTML/CSS/Java and have a "general" understanding of SEO.
Have an Associates in applied sciences, A+, and studying for my network+.
I plan on getting the "holy trinity" of comptia just to get my feet wet to figure out what I want to do. Then focus on higher certs once I figure out what I like.
I am just getting burnt out from the calls and need a change and advice. What would you all suggest I aim for in a job? What kind of salary should I expect with my limited experience and education?
