Candidly Campaigning

Sleet stood on top of Red Base. He set his Comms to open, so everyone who wanted to hear him could.

Well guys. I guess it's my turn. As you all may know, Red Team is holding elections for the Commanding Officer of Red Team. This is the beginning and opening statement of my campaign.

For all of you who don't know me, my name is Jeremiah Claybourne, more commonly known as Sleet. I'm a Lance Corporal of Red Team, leader of Red Team Squad 5, an ex-robot, and an Aussie.

So, I believe I'm a good option for a leadership role for Red Team. There are good and bad aspects of leadership. Sometimes, it's hard work and you have to put up with people you hate. Sometimes, people die. However, as CO, I will deal with whatever bullshit I have to.

I may not be the most popular, most well-known or even most-liked candidate for the CO position, but I want to let you know that I'm a perfectly viable option. I have always done what I can for the Red cause. Uhh...Red as in the team...not...not communist...

Not a communist...

Uhh. What I mean is, I have always done my part for the Red Team. Whether that be defending the base when the Reds and Blues were fighting or constructing a robot for the Red Team Annual Robot Games that didn't compete and ended up defecting to the Blues. Yeah...

I've been at the canyon for a while, longer than most of my competition. I've done it all. I defended the canyon against Cave-Aliens. I ventured into the caves with Stan the Alien-Man, God bless his soul. I helped take on Zkor the Fanatic. I gave Fireteam Sheen the greatest name ever. I defended the canyon from Nevada's forces. I didn't take a side in the Purple/Green debacle. I carried Hawaii out of her cell and lugged her to the canyon with the help of Fireteam Delta. I dealt with a goddamn criminal investigator who came here to take me away.

I've done what I can for the canyon, and my voting for me, you are allowing to do so much more.

Thank you all.

Sleet sat down on the edge of the roof.

I hope that was enough for now.
