[EVENT][RNG] Clean Water and Sanitation Act of 2025

EVENT

While there have been many improvements to water and sanitation over the years, it lacks a central authority to govern and and regulate the sector. Thus, an independent regulatory commission named the National Water and Sanitation Commission or CNAS will be formed by Congress to oversee this sector. While the regional companies in charge of water and sewage maintain their jurisdiction, they are now regulated by CNAS. The bill appropriates $100 million to found CNAS and an addittional $35 million each to improve access to clean drinking water and to raise the number of households served by sewers both in rural and urban areas. The bill pushes for 95% of the population, both urban and rural to have access to clean drinking water and sanitation.
