Possibly a potential new Homestuck reader/fan???

Hello.

I've never heard, nor seen anything in relation to Homestuck in my entire life (and I'm not very certain what it even is). I only just recently heard about it over at r/Undertale after watching a small little animation a few weeks back that had an Undertale reference in it (Someone turns into a heart and starts fighting this weird thing or something and the other) and from that animation, I had absolutely no bloody idea who the HELL anyone was or what was even going on.

I did a little bit of research ala wiki, and I (think?) I've become interested...Or something.

Though what I've also heard was that not only is Homestuck a long webcomic, but it's also confusing as bloody hell, so I humbly come here as a newbie to ask:

What's Homestuck, or rather what is it about? Is it good, is it weird?
