Any tips to help me cut back?
So I'm an avid weed smoker. I smoke every day, probably around twice a day. Of course, that number fluctuates in correlation with my bull shit tolerance meter. I've been smoke daily for about four years now. Overall, I think weed is awesome. However, the way it effects each person's daily lives is different. For me, while it was fun and cool smoking all the time when I was younger, veteran stoners will usually tell you that it can become less fun and more all consuming after a while. You see, I have depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and smoking everyday for years has only seemed to make them worse in ways. Though my biggest problem is how lethargic and unmotivated it makes me, causing me to hold myself back from all the things I want to accomplish. My issue with quitting is, I'm pretty damn dependent on the stuff. I know it sounds pretty lame to say you're addicted to weed, however psychosomatic addiction and the symptoms that come with it are pretty real. First I can't eat or sleep, and then I start feeling sick and sore all over with stomach aches and headaches. Worst of all, I start getting totally neurotic after about the third days, like hulk angry for no reason other than being looked at the wrong way. It probably because I'm not use to dealing with all my little mental quirks without it. It's weird, when I first started smoking all the time, it was just for fun with my friends. I really wasn't invested and would never understand why they'd be so bummed without it. After years of doing it, I started using it to cope with everything without even noticing. So I want to cut back. I still want to smoke socially, because I'm a big believer in use not abuse and self having self control, I guess I'm just having a hard time putting it into practice.
