Trouble bending knee after deep cut

I cut my knee horizontally with one side going almost to the bone on a week ago. I had an x ray that showed nothing but some soft tissue swelling and then got 4 staples in it. The staples are still in, but I can't bend my knee past like 10 or 20 degrees. Will this stop after the staples are out or will I not be able to walk for awhile.
