r/Brasil help me find out what happened to my friend a Canadian EFL teacher in Macae who has apparently been murdered. [Serious]

This person has been living in Brazil for 14 years, married to a Brazilian w/children, and operated a successful language school in the Rio area.

He was the long time moderator of a Brazilian expat forum to which I belong. The forum admin posted today that this moderator has been reported murdered in the last week. His last post on the forum on which he was a very conscientious caretaker, was April 7, 2016.

I've been combing through Brazilian news sites and news tweets for hours but cannot find anything.

I know the person's full name, facebook page, and his school website which includes a phone number. I can PM these to anyone who is genuine and wishes to help find out what happened to my friend.
