I'm Worried About A Friendship
I'm a freshman in high school, and overall, this year has been crap for me. It wouldn't have sucked as much if I hadn't kept trying to be friends with a fake friend who constantly made me feel bad about myself. When I asked him for advice, he actually seemed like he was trying to help me, but it was pretty crappy advice. He basically the reason I had a problem was because of me, and he offered little compassion. He said things like "it gets better", or "you could talk to me about anything". But, what happened when I tried to talk about my problems with him after two or three other times? He said things like "Oh my God, you're so moody, you're so annoying, you're such a pussy". Not only that, but whenever I tried to talk to him just casually, he either didn't care, or he pretended too. Eventually, I got sick and tired of him and decided to make new friends. I decided to talk more with a friend that I already had from the beginning of the year, and he's pretty awesome. I also chose to hang out around him and a few of his friends at school, and I think we're developing a good friendship too. Not only that, but when I tried talking to him about my problem, he offered some pretty good advice. The problem that I keep talking about is that I'm constantly worried that people are going to think that I'm annoying or a jerk. So, even after he gave me this advice, I from time to time ask if I was being annoying, or apologized for being annoying. His responses were usually around the lines of "you weren't being annoying". He's an easy guy to talk to, and we have some good laughs. We even might be going to a concert over the summer. I can tell he actually likes me as a friend, unlike the guy I was talking about before. But, when I ask him to hang out, he usually says "my mom won't let me". There was this one time over break where he said that his mom was mad at him, so there was a small chance we would be able to hang out. But he told me that his mom let him have one of his friends over, and he asked if I could come over too, but she said no. I also asked him if we could hang out over the weekend, but he said that one of his friends was moving in with him. These just seem like too convinient excuses for him not being able to hang out with me. Also, I sent him a snapchat text asking what's up, and a while latter, I saw that the text was gone, but he didn't respond. This means that he saw my text, but didn't reply. If he doesn't respond, I'm going to ask him or bring it up tomarrow, but I don't want to do it in a way that would make me seem angry or over emotional. This is getting me confused and angry. How should I ask him about this, and is he a real friend, or is he a fake like that other guy?
