Dear Devs, Nerfing Damage does not Fix the Real Problem with this Game: The Broken AI
There was never a need to change the meta of the game. There was never a demand to add additional health or "protection" to lengthen the battle. What we asked for was to simply make defense more viable in the game.
By nerfing the damage and adding a layer of protection, the gameplay was extended since it would take longer to kill characters. Thus, at least in theory, it should make more characters viable to be used? Wrong. While it may have helped make a few characters useful, in turn making others extremely irrelevant, defense is still the same terrible void of a proper AI system. It undermines the whole purpose of this patch. By avoiding doing the real "developing" and the real "programming" needed to fix the problems of this game, you are just causing the game to become worse and worse with every patch. Concentrating on building a stronger and smart AI will produce better results and feedback from the users of this game.
Not only have you continued to make the game a grind fest with the introduction of new gear requirements and materials, you have now made the actual gameplay a grind fest. Battles now take twice as long to finish, but still ending with the same results: Who ever attacks last at the deadline (payout time) wins. And frankly, that just sucks. Plain and simple. When you can't rely on your team to be able to defend itself properly to hold its position, you get things like dropping from top 10 to 150+ overnight. And why exactly is that? When that same team can easily crush while I'm using it to obtain the #1 spot, but it can't seem to defend itself from far inferior teams? One reason, the broken AI.
P.S. One more thing, if you are lacking the staff required to handle this level of programming and developing in order to produce a viable AI system for the game, then hire some more developers! This game makes shy of $200,000 a day. There is absolutely no reason why there should be an excuse of being understaffed or overloaded. There is so much more potential to this game, and everyone knows it. But all of this is being undermined by the piss poor AI that currently exist.
