Help! Travelling with a curling wand

Hi everyone,

I will be travelling with a curling wand and while I realize there are rubber cases etc available for straightening irons, I couldn't find anything for curling wands! Since it's metal all around, I'm not sure I would trust just wrapping it in an oven mitt. I have limited time in the morning for it to cool down before storing it in my bag. Has anyone here travelled with a curling wand before, and if so, what do you use to store it?
