Quick question about anovulatory cycles.

So this current cycle seems to possibly be anovulatory. I've never had long or irregular cycles before that I'm aware of. Went of BCP a year ago. Been temping and charting for 6 months. 28-30 day cycles. Increased my luteal phase from 9-14 days I believe thanks to B6. But I'm currently CD 38 with negative tests. I wasn't doing my OPKs this cycle and my temps don't confirm ovulation. But I did feel my normal ovulation pain.

Anyways, my question is this: Those of you who have had anovulatory cycles, what signifies the end? If you don't ovulate, then what starts the luteal phase and then the period? When will this end? Am I just stuck in limbo?

Had my first appt with RE today. She ordered bloodwork so I'm waiting on that for some answers. But just looking for some experience. Thanks!
