I have an emergency and you all seem to know about the topic: setting up e-mail via smtp

Edit: I had to stay up til 4 in the morning but I have solved the problem thanks to information I got here and in online reading. Thank you to those who opined. I registered a domain and then linked it to a business e-mail hosting subscription I set up with Microsoft office. The account allows me to send messages at the rate I need to (most importantly) and in volume. My latency has gone down to 20 seconds and it is very, very consistent. I'm very pleased with the result and honestly this saved my research project. In the short term this only cost me about $16 to arrange. Sorry to those who didn't like the thread, I know it wasn't about a startup per-se, but the issue was one that seemed along the lines of one a startup might deal with. Thanks again.

Hello,

I'm having a serious problem suddenly, and Google led me to this subreddit. I don't have a startup but since you all seem to know a lot about this topic I was hoping you all could help.

tl;dr: Need to send e-mails with java code for my research study, need to get service I don't get blacklisted by but need a shopping list of things I need to lease/register/buy/etc.

I am a student and for a research study I developed in Java, I send text messages by connecting to my gmail and e-mails to the phones' addresses (they show up as normal texts). The messages have to be sent on a schedule, and it's much faster than I can do by hand. Well my study starts tomorrow and I think Google has blacklisted me or something over the past week. It's to the point now where half the messages don't arrive and those that do are delayed indefinitely.

I really need help to get a solution put together by tomorrow around lunch. I'm willing to pay for things, but I don't know how this works and need a shopping list. I saw that SparkPost is good for SMTP and I think I can use it. But I need to know what else I need to register/pay for to get all necessary pieces. To a) get an e-mail account I have control of and b) send a total of about 4000 texts in increments of 100 over a month's time without getting blacklisted by my provider.

Do I need to register a domain? Will I need to pay for some hosting? Do I need something separate to get an e-mail address? What else do I need to get?

Thank you so much for any tips.. This is a worst case scenario for me.
