[TOMT][Book] Illustrated collection of fantastical, creepy short stories (read sometime between 1987 - 1992) The primary story I recall relates to a person’s family transforming into fruit. The story is accompanied by a disturbing illustration with sad faces staring out of fruit growing on a tree.

I remember reading this book sometime within the perimeters of 1987 – 1992 (though unsure of when published). The illustrated collection had two other stories I can barely recall: One in which dogs chasing cats is explained as the dog trying to apologize to the cat (the dog and cat somehow eventually transform into the Sun and Moon); There may have also been a story about monkeys in a tree or something in this collection too. Any help at all is appreciated.
