Content Creators / Mods / Viewers - Let's work together to make this sub better!
Ok, so here is the deal. Virtual reality is expected to create a $120 BILLION market by 2020. VR adult films and games, like always, are going to play a major role. But here we are, with a bunch of content from a bunch of different production companies and we are literally sitting with our dicks-in-our-hands and going no-where.
Content Producers / Production Companies You create content, you test content - but a large majority of people are unable to play it correctly. How is this not an issue? How does that not bother you? Why go through the work of creating something that people struggle to watch?
Here's the deal. VR films, at this point in time, are like going to a car dealership - buying a nice sportcar - and then as you drive away, the sales person is like "hey, if you put the correct gas in the car, it will be fucking awesome... otherwise it will not fucking work at all. Oh, and we tested several cars, so we know what works best, so... good luck!"
When creating content, you test it, right? You know what the main current VR tech is (Oculus Rift, HTV Vive, Gear VR.) You own one of each and test each video on each device, right? I mean seriously, if you don't own all 3, just buy them. Isn't it discouraging to go through all the work of filming, working with models, editing, website, etc. just to have people come on here and go "hrrr drr.. it doesn't work."
There have be several companies on here who REPEATEDLY get called out for being out of perspective, crap quality, etc. You guys know what is wrong when it comes to production... is it that hard to either fix it - or tell us what the hell we are doing wrong? I realize this is early, and most of you are tight lipped on what your setup/production process is - but if you are going through all the work and just creating bad content people will stop paying for it.
MOD(S) I think there is only one of you, right? I don't mean to give you more work - you do a great job keeping it running currently. However, this sub is free, unlimited advertising for content creators. I have no issue with that, but I know there are MANY subs that don't allow blatant advertising. In my mind, this sub is different though - and I think that companies should be held to a different standard than "regular viewers."
First off, I would require that if a video is advertised it must include:
- Devices tested on
- Software tested on
- Settings
- Link to the video (not the just main page)
- Demo (either of the video, or the general site) so that people can test the production quality before purchasing
So, an example would be:
Check out this great video I made - it 14 girls getting fucked by a matador!
- Oculus Rift; tested with Whirligig. Format: Cinema SBS, Tilt: 0, Scale: 45, Distance: 3, Stretch 0
- HTC Vive; tested with Virtual Desktop. Format: SBS, Tilt: 0, Scale: 45, Stretch 0
- Gear VR; tested with VR Player Pro. Format: Cinema SBS, Tilt: 90, Scale: 45, Distance: 3, Stretch 0
Everyone Else If you subscribe, and you can actually get a video to play decently - share the knowledge. Do a 50 word review and add on your viewer specifications. There are not that many different devices and there aren't that many different companies - we could quickly amass a quality list of specs and make this community even better.
