Troubles with the watchdogs covenant

So i joined them, talked to Spoiler:, equiped their symbol and started to running around, completing my game. I wasnt summed even a single time, though i spent some time in the crab swamp. Same happened when i was wearing blue bro symbol. Played for several hours and wasnt summoned a single time. Am i doing something wrong?
