[Discuss] ADQXQ's Multiplier

Discuss

Just wanted to quickly put out my thoughts so I could stop thinking about this.

5-orb is 1.5x (36x), 6-orb is 2x (64x), 7-orb is 2.5x (100x)

What is wrong with this:

  • 7-orbs: No, not that 7>6 and I wanted 6 orbs, my discussions on PF explored both the possibility of 100x at 6-orbs and 81x (2.25x) at 6-orbs. No, not that 64<81. Just the fact that they chose 7. On a row team.

What isn't wrong with this:

  • 100x isn't easy: We are talking about 100x on a row team. Why should that be as easy as making a row? Yes, powercreep and shit, things need to be tanky and strong or just strong af, blahblah. But be honest, unless you just want everything to be broken af, why should a row team get 100x just for making a row and matching three other colors. Anyone who isn't absolute shit at comboing (I'm shit and I used DQXQ) knows it isn't hard to make a row and activate DQXQ, multiple rows was harder but no longer necessary. Most rows force you to do something similar anyway (clearing the board). Why do you even want 100x with rows to be convenient? There is a whole 1 use for that (Kali) and I doubt most people intend to even use DQXQ for that because there are far easier and more reliable options and most people seem to choose that route of playing. Which is totally cool, play how you want, I'm just saying that it has one use and most people won't even use her for that.

  • 7-orbs: Think about it this way. They weren't going to make it 6-orbs for the reason mentioned above, they could've gone for NepDra tier shit and made her unplayable. The only option was a few orbs above 6. Like 8. But keep thinking about it: scaling from 5 orbs to 8 orbs (4 steps) vs 5 to 7 (3). While I expected 2x at 5, I agree that that is also unreasonably strong as well so 1.5x makes sense. It'd go 1.5, 1.8ish, 2.1ish, 2.5 as opposed to 1.5, 2, 2.5 given that it was going from 1.5 to 2.5 either way. So, while it is effectively 8 orbs for 100x, it has a better scaling than if it had actually been 8 orbs.

  • ADQXQ: Saw some of this on PF and I'm only logging in there on weekends so I couldn't say something. I probably should do the same for here but I rarely come here anyway so that is my excuse. Anyway, she isn't bad all of the sudden because of this. Compared to before (coming from a DQXQ player, at least before I quit and before she became effectively obsolete), her teambuilding has opened up like crazy. Previously you were limited by rows, colors, actives, sbr, etc. and rarely had any flex spots on the team and barely any rows. Now your leaders have as much as your old team (assuming you weren't running super lux lineup), your multiplier is also dope, you have two flex spots if you know how to teambuild and you only need to worry about covering colors (worry is wrong word). A huge limiting factor (apart from her power, though she was tanky with HP mult) was that you barely had any space left on your team or anything to switch out after you covered the bare minimum. Just because she went from a row team with god-tier multiplier to row team with fucking amazing multiplier doesn't mean she is bad. In fact, she wasn't really fair with the speculated multipliers as far as work vs multiplier went. She still isn't but ya, subjective and shit.

Anyway, my opinion. She isn't shit because of this, 7-orbs isn't the end of the world. :/
