27" 1440p IPS - convince me please...
My main requirements are 27" 1440p IPS. It will be an all purpose monitor (browsing, movies, gaming) and I was going to buy the BenQ GW2765HT until I read about the input lag... 24ms average based on tftcentral review. Then I saw the MG279Q for a bit more money but 144hz. Input lag varies based on refresh rate but 120 and 144 both show very low input lag averages (with 144hz averaging 4ms total input lag) and was very interested....until I saw that Asus recalled these monitors for problems running at 144hz (read about Asus recall MG279Q and their problems skipping every 6th frame).
I'm at a loss reddit. I've been all over the place in getting a monitor and I'm set on 27" 1440p IPS but I don't want to risk a Korean brand and want a somewhat decent panel (no dead pixels or backlight bleeding). I would get the PG279Q / XB271HU if it weren't for the huge lottery and the fact I would have to order online makes it even worse. The Viewsonic XG03 series looks promising but that means waiting 4 months or so only to find out they suffer from the exact same issues as the other 144/165hz IPS Gsync/freesync panels from Acer/Asus. I have an Nvidia card but honestly whether they have adaptive sync or not doesn't matter that much to me. If I'm getting an end-game monitor assuming the 279Q or 271HU had much better QC I would get the Gsync version - but at this point I think it's better getting a cheaper IPS that is strictly 1440p / 27" and waiting a couple years for better options.
Regardless, I want a monitor soon and I'm extremely lost. Can you guys recommend me some options? Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
