Darkmoon Covanant Broken?

So there are supposed to be two sides of this covenant. First one being that you will join worlds to protect against invaders. Second one being that you get invaded by Aldrich Faithful. All that has happened while I've had this covenant on is that I'll randomly get 3v1 ganked by invaders. Am i doing something wrong? I've been in the area with the most pvp action all day.
