Fun theory time! How did the Hale men get captured?

At the start of season 3b Derek and Peter get captured by the Mexican hunters. Derek grudgingly glares at Peter and Peter admits it's his fault they got captured although they never showed how this happened. Any funny/serious theories on how the cautious Derek and sneaky Peter got caught?
