Nightly Activity Log:

08:00 - Dispatch here, filling in for Chief Swan. He never reported in this morning, but I’m guessing he’ll call in sick before long.

08:12 - Traffic accident on Main Street. Unit 3 dispatched.

08:23 - Looking through Chief Swan’s logs from the past few days, I notice that they are full of insubstantial nonsense, maybe that’s what’s wrong with this town…

09:06 - No word from Chief Swan. I will probably call him soon if he doesn’t call first.

09:30 - Have called 18 times, no response.

09:53 - Received 911 call, reporting a mob in the town square. Witness stated that someone was literally being beaten to death by loud, angry members of the mob. Officers dispatched to intervene.

10:04 - Officers at the scene report that the mob had dispersed, leaving behind the beaten, broken body of the good Doctor u/DEP61. The poor man won’t be saving lives any more.

10:56 - Received 911 call, someone reporting that the town was too quiet and they were scared. I had literally no response, so I just hung up.

11:00 - Still waiting to hear from Chief Swan…

11:06 - Dispatched Unit 2 to Chief Swan’s house to check on him.

11:16 - Unit 2 reports no signs of activity in Chief Swan’s house or property.

11:18 - Authorized Unit 2 to enter Chief Swan’s house by force.

11:21 - Chief Swan’s house is abandoned. No sign of forced entry or a struggle.

11:25 - All units instructed to begin search for Chief Swan.
