I've got a data sample, lets call it X. I take the variance of X, VarX. I then split X into 5 columns and take that variance, Var5. What number does round(VarX/Var5) represent?

If s^2 is the variance of the set of numbers (X), what formula approximates the variance of means from samples of size n collected from X?
