Have your and your SO's parents ever met? How was it?

After I've (22F) got a letter today from my boyfriend's (24M) parents I realized how much I like them and I'm happy to be kind of part of their family. But still something is missing, it's usual in my family for my parents to build lasting friendships with all SO's parents that have ever come to our house (and keep them even though me or my brother aren't dating their kids anymore) and I would love if my parents met his and build this sort of usual friendship.

But yeah, have your parents ever met your SO's? How was it? Was it only when you got married or before? I just want to hear nice and interesting stories, specially about couples from different countries.
