Just to share a match that was satisfying as a learning player.
So I have been watching videos on reads and conditioning opponents just trying to soak it in. Im just a mediocre/bad 1300LP player. I can now destroy the players that are noticeably worse than me now but obviously look helpless vs better players.
In a casual match as Ryu vs Nash whom I often struggle against if they are decent. First 2 rounds go poorly and he mops me up. I accept rematch and take a breath, slow down and just try to maybe learn something. I take what he gives me and get some hits in here and there and steal a round mashing out critical art on wakeup. Rnd 3 I switch to be more aggressive to not let him set up his bag of tricks and land some cross up combos. I bait his nuetral jumps on my wakeup and successfully punish. I am making good reads! I won the match and was pretty proud since I knew and could feel that he was just a better player.
Match 3 Rnd 1 I am now stuffing his pokes and forcing hasty anti airs. Up til this point I have been ending blocked cross ups with the same block string. This time I go right into a throw and take the round. He prompty rage quits after rnd 1. For a player like me this is a big accomplishment, overcoming an obviously better player on the back of good reads and semi decent execution.
