I NEED HELP SOMEONE USED MY BANK ACCOUNT FOR A SCAM AND THE POLICE INTERVIEWED ME
Hi I've got myself into a predicament. A while ago someone transfered $550 to my bank account. I saw the transfer, I thought this must've been some kind of fluke because i had no idea where this came from so i spent the money. A few weeks after this the bank (ANZ) called me and said this money had to be reversed because someone sent it in an exchange for an iphone, which i had no prior knowledge about, so continuing they told me that there would be a $550 minus overdraft in my account and that i couldn't transfer money to my account until i had payed it. So after that i went straight away and deposited $550 in the bank. At this point i thought this misunderstanding had been resolved. A few weeks later and we arrive at today morning. Today 2 police officers come to my front door and confront me about this issue and tell me that it is a person on a facebook trading group that scammed this money and so i tell them the exact same story i told you. They still continued to question and interview me. They were asking me very specific questions as if they were trying to make me trip up on something. I began to say i was feeling uncomfortable with their questioning and they began to leave informing they would be in contact soon. I have no knowledge of the law or anything to do with scamming so i have arrived here now. Am i in trouble? The issue has already been resolved with the bank and the victim of this scam so is there anything that could happen to me? I know i am somewhat in the wrong but i had no idea about any scams or anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
