How to properly trade in eve?

So, I've gotten a lot of feedback from people on Twitch who also watch Eve and from players themselves and trading sounds like a boring but also extremely profitable prospect. The only trading I've down in a space game is in Elite Dangerous hauling cargo from one station to the next, buying low selling high, and that was easy for me because it was both simple and able to be nearly memorized.

But now that I'm been stuck into Eve, I want to make some good isk quick, and trading seems like the way to do it. So what are some tips and tricks? Or apps or programs that can show me where to buy things low and sell them high? Or is it an entirely different sort of experience?
