How to improve chances of getting a student loan without a cosigner?
I'm 22 years old and I've had a discover card for about a year and half and I've never missed a payment. My credit score is around a 705, and I also have about 18k in government student loans so far. Also I made about 14k in the last year (10k for all of 2015) if that's relevant. So that's my background
Because both of my parents are financially inept I don't have anyone that can cosign on a loan, and years ago when I tried applying for private loans they denied me because I didn't have a cosigner. I guess my question would be, do I have a better chance if I apply this time around? If not, are there any methods of applying for student loans that don't require a cosigner? I usually manage to scrape up just enough but these next coming semesters I don't think I'll be able to be as lucky. I should have roughly 2 years left for my degree, maybe less if I take summer classes and the like.
Anyway, if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it, as I'm a little worried about what my next move should be. Thanks
