Should I buy a Japanese 3DS?

I recently saw that Yo-Kai watch 3 was being released in Japan and I really want to play it. I am afraid that I won't be able to understand any of the games on the Japanese 3DS and that I won't enjoy them or be able to play them due to lack of being able to read kanji. Do I need to learn Japanese to understand the games?
