ELI5: what kind of injuries would actually cause you to bleed from the mouth like in movies?

We see it all the time in film and TV: you know someone is jacked up when blood drips (sometimes pours) from their mouths. But it seems like so many different types of injuries can cause this. Whether it's being shot, stabbed, falling from high up, getting a good enough ass kicking, being mauled or any other number of things. So what kind of injuries would realistically result in blood coming from your mouth? Aside from mouth injuries, of course.
